Abstract
Teaching methods are crucial in English language learning as teachers play a significant role in making learning more enjoyable and effective for students. Objective: To identify the students' perception of the method used by the teacher in teaching ESP at universitas sari mulia. Method: This study employs a descriptive quantitative design, a saturated sampling technique, and a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. Results: Some students' questionnaire responses indicated a positive perception of each principle of the CTL method. The first principle of constructivism shows a positive response of 82%; the second principle of inquiry shows a positive response of 68%; the third principle of questioning shows a positive response of 68%; the fourth principle of learning community shows a positive response of 68%; the fifth principle of modeling shows a positive response of 57%; the sixth principle of reflection shows a positive response of 93%; and the seventh principle of authentic assessment shows a positive response of 71%. Conclusion: Depending on the questionnaire results, students in the midwifery study program had a positive perception of the ESP teacher's methods in the teaching and learning process in the English class.
